Web Hosting Company Cautions!

Be cautious when hiring a hosting company to host your website, many factors should be considered. First analyze your hosting needs and be mindful of the follow points...

1. Price and for what features?

2. How much storage space do you need, or will you need in the future?

3. Is there Security issues? Can you do automatic updates? Can you install modules, themes, without writing in SSH or creating an INI or PHP file? Can you install CMS, like WordPress, Durpal, Open-Cart, Joomla, Etc? And be cautious of Windows servers because if you're using CMS's like WordPress, Drupal, Joomla they usually don't handle these type of installs!

4. Is it possible to manage your domain name? add a sub-domain, make changes to (DNS) Domain Name Servers, etc?

5. Do you have c-panel access to make changes and install a database for a manual install, or to add a sub-domain, forward, redirect or even add another directory?

6. Is there technical support?... and what are their office hours, or if there is only a support center via chat or email, and then what type of time frame do they get back with you? I have literally been booted out and could not login to my ftp and or the support center and had to go to another hosting company and lose my website! Nobody from that hosting company ever got back to me!

7. Is your hosting shared server overloaded by one or many of the websites hosted on the shared server? It can cause slow loading times and give you a poorer Google rating!

8. Be careful of email storage space with an email account with your web hosting provider. Most hosting companies won't emphasis the need for unlimited email storage space that you will probably need for your companies emails. What actually happens if you don't setup unlimited email storage is that your email inbox will become full and your emails will kick back to an inbox catch-all and your emails are lost forever in cyberspace. So make sure when you sign-up for a web hosting account that you have unlimited email storage.

I just wanted to share a few of the problems and issues I have encountered over the years and help you become aware of let's just say web hosting that can ruin your search results and your last nerve!

These are just a few of the issues that I wanted to share, and I hope this helps you find a great hosting company.

Complex Website Design - A Make or Break Factor in Customer Perceived Value

Many businesses have started running their operations online as well. Because the internet is such a widespread phenomenon, it's only understandable that businesses try to reach their target market through the internet now. Because you cannot interact directly over the internet with your customers, especially when you're selling stuff, your website will act as your face. The appearance of your website will be the factor that your clients will judge when they consider you as an option to trade with.

Making sure that you have a complex website design is the new worry for most upcoming businesses. The more complex the design of your website is, the more reliable your site looks, and the more customers are willing to trust you as opposed to other websites. The first step that you will need to do, in order to build a complex website, is to sign up with a web hosting service provider. Don't just pick any service provider; it's necessary that you pick the most reliable one that you can find. There are some free providers on the internet but most of their features are limited. If you want the more complex features for your website, you will have to buy a hosting plan first.

Once you've purchased your desired hosting plan, you can skim through the different template options that the service provider is offering you. Most templates come with different widgets. You will be allowed to alter the widgets by adding or deleting them from the administration panel. If you're new to website designing, it's highly recommended that you hire a professional to design your website instead of wasting a perfectly good plan and designing a website through trial and error.

The professional web designer will be able to meet your requirements for the website and will be able to make your website look top-notch and professional. If the cost of hiring a professional is not something you can afford to pay, there are certain tools that might be able to help you in designing your website with a complex and professional design. There are tools like Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia's Dreamweaver and even HTML that will be able to help you with the designing.

HTML happens to be one of the most important tools in creating a good website. You can find many other tools online, both free and downloadable. Some might need to be purchased, and they are worth the money more often than not.

Your complex website design can include a number of features like detailed brochures, reports of the company, interactive interface, logistics etc. you can also have back-end systems to record client information and maintain records.

The tools that are used in designing these kinds of websites will definitely make your web pages look rich. When designing, it is necessary to consider the various browsers that people operate with and make sure the website looks good on all browsers. You need to make considerations for people accessing your website from their smart phones and tablets as well, so you need to make your website compatible with various devices as well.

Web Design - Principal Elements

The six basic elements of a good web design are: the simplicity, the visual balance, the proportion, the contrast, the fluidity and the harmony.

Let's start to talk about the simplicity, which is the most important principle when we talk about web design. Visitors should not struggle too hard if you hide the information from menu after menu than Visitors consider here is no more information, you will only frustrate your visitors or you will oblige them to move to something else (click, click, click, click, click, forget it!). If possible try to use "three clicks rule", which means that no information should be more than three clicks away. But the World Wide Web wants to make things simpler and it also wants more accessible public information. That is important.

The visual balance is the most important principle when we talk about web design. To create a balance from the beginning to the end, it is required that any Web page should have a header and footer section; this creates visual parts of your site and it makes it easier to navigate in. Many inexperienced designers feel the need to fill every pixel of information. In print, this is called ink density. What's more, the colour shade should be the same. In addition to that, do not underestimate the value of white spaces. Each element of web design (pictures, texts, white spaces) has an optical influence.

Another important principle of web designing is the proportion. It is more pleasing for the eye to view a rectangle in a proportion than a perfect square. For some reason, the human eye tends to favour the different proportions of length and width.

The contrast is very simple to explain the public will come to a close to listen if you shout from the beginning be sure someone will pay attention if you just whisper and suddenly shout really loudly. Other advice would be to avoid using a single type of "treatment" for your text. For example: use either bold or italics but you are advised not to use both of them together. Another mistake is to create very dense text documents ignoring the inclusion of white spaces; it makes the readers see a gray wall.

Be careful also about the fluidity. The visitors tend to scan pages quickly first and then decide to read what interests them. The first looks are fixed on unusual forms and then the visitors begin to analyse the text. A good web page leads the visitor to the desired point.

Last, but not least, your site should be balanced. In other words, your pages need to compliment each other, to show that they belong together. You can do this keeping the same elements and the same structure on each page of the site

The six key elements of web design are equally important and harmonize each other. If you want to create the desired visitor experience that you should keep a balance of all these elements.

Web Design - Principal Elements

There are six basic elements for a good web design that are the simplicity, the visual balance, the proportion, the contrast, the fluidity and the harmony.

Let's start with the first one. The simplicity is the most important principle when we talk about web design. After all, the World Wide Web wants to make things simpler and it also wants more accessible public information. Visitors should not struggle too hard in order to get to your website content. If possible try to use "three clicks rule", which means that no information should be more than three clicks away. If you hide the information from menu after menu, you will only frustrate your visitors or you will oblige them to move to something else (click, click, click, click, click, forget it!).

The visual balance is another important principle of web designing. Many inexperienced designers feel the need to fill every pixel of information. Every element of web design has an optical influence in print language that is called ink density. Web page should have a header and footer section; this creates visual parts of your site and it makes it easier to navigate in and the colour shade should be the same. Well this positively is not the best method of communication. Ink density is required that any Web page to create a balance from the beginning to the end. In addition to that, do not underestimate the value of white spaces.

Proportion is should be also important principle of web designing. The human eye tends to favour the different proportions of length and width. It is more pleasing for the eye to view a rectangle in a proportion than a perfect square.

Last but not least, your site must be balanced. In other words, the pages must complement each other, to show that go hand in hand. You can do this by keeping the same structure and the same rudiments on every page.

All the six principal elements of web design are equally important and complement one another. To create the desired experience for the visitors you are advised to maintain a balance of all these elements.
